RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING MEMBERS

Recognition by peers is one of the most satisfying experiences
for a professional.
There are many ways to recognize your fellow laboratory scientists
through ASCLS
and ASCLS-WI.
Award information is sent to each branch society, each ASCLS-WI board member and each committee chair. Review the awards listed below and nominate a deserving ASCLS-WI member…yourself included!
ASCLS-WI awards are presented at the annual spring convention.
ASCLS-WI
Awards
Member of the Year (State)
The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual who has
contributed significantly
to the field of CLS and to the society and who has, by outstanding
example, inspired
others. It is the highest honor given to an individual ASCLS-WI member
- Eligibility: Must be active ASCLS-WI and ASCLS member for at least 5
years;
should be active at local, state, and regional levels.
- Send nominations to ASCLS-WI Awards Chair by January 20, 2012.
ASCLS-WI Board Service Awards

The purpose of this award is to recognize members who have given
outstanding service
to ASCLS-WI during the current year.
- A point system is used to determine awardees.
- Individuals with the highest point total are also nominated for the
following
year state level Omicron Sigma recognition.
- Send nominations to ASCLS-WI Awards Chair by March 14, 2012

Award
for Continuing
Education
(Download

The purpose of this award is to encourage members to share their
knowledge with
other members and to encourage participation in ASCLS-WI education
activities.
The award is presented to the branch society with the greatest number of
continuing
education activities in a calendar year.
- An engraved platter is awarded at the Spring Convention
- Send documentation and completed forms to ASCLS-WI Awards Chair by March
14, 2012
Friends of ASCLS-WI Award

The purpose of this award is to recognize educational institutions,
companies,
and individuals that demonstrate continuous support of ASCLS-WI and the
profession
of clinical laboratory science
- The qualifying year is January 1st through December 31st
- Nominations may be made by any ASCLS-WI member
- Nominations must be received by March 14, 2012
ASCLS Key to the Future

The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward ASCLS members who
have demonstrated
their leadership potential to the organization, and to provide these
members with
structured mentoring. Each state society may submit up to three
nominations to
ASCLS.
- Nominations must be received by February 25, 2012
Branch Society Membership Growth Award
A traveling silver plated bowl is awarded each year to the branch
society that
has the greatest percentage growth in active members for the previous
year. The
name of the winning society is permanently inscribed on the bowl, which
passes
to the winning branch society each year
- Any branch society that wins the Membership Growth Award for three
consecutive
years will receive a permanent award to keep
- A permanent file of members’ names should be maintained by each branch
society
indicating the membership roster each year
- The list of ASCLS members in each branch with their ASCLS membership
numbers
should be sent to the ASCLS-WI Membership Chair by March 15th. ASCLS
members must
be in an active status and local branch members to qualify
ASCLS
National
Awards
ASCLS has always been a grassroots organization, which values the
contribution
of each member at all levels of the society and profession of clinical
laboratory
science. One way to acknowledge such important involvement is through
the annual
